Technical Details of Yachting
Yachting is a wonderful way to explore stunning landscapes and new worlds. When you arrive in a country overseas and wish to rent a yacht for your use, it is crucial to check several acute points.
Renting yachts abroad requires thorough inspection. You must match the size of the yacht to the number of vacationers expected to stay on it. Ensure there is enough space for everyone, so it doesn’t feel too crowded during the holiday but, on the other hand, try not to rent a gigantic yacht for a small number of vacationers.
Another important point is the level of equipment on the yacht, safety-wise it should include all necessary equipment, in the field of extreme sports or diving it is essential to ensure that the yacht has all the necessary equipment so that you can enjoy it while sailing through rivers or in the open sea.
It’s important to check that the yacht is insured with a policy that covers all important clauses in its full monetary value.

Extended Stay on a Yacht
If you are planning an extended stay of several days or more, prepare in advance, purchase enough food and drink so you can prepare tasty meals or alternatively buy ready-made meals that can be heated at any time.
For hosting celebrations, ensure that all the necessary equipment is available on the ship, including a sound system, speakers, etc.
Conducting Yachting in Foreign Countries
Sailing a yacht in the territorial waters of any country should be done according to the regulations set by that country. Many countries are strict about the execution of all procedures and enforce them.
One of these issues is maintaining environmental quality in sea waters so that no environmental pollution is caused. According to a treaty signed by all the countries in the Middle East, the treaty includes instructions on not dumping waste into the sea and preventing fuel leakage into the sea waters.
Renting yachts in Turkey requires compliance with the BLUE CARD standard. Every yacht is required to purchase this card valid for a full year, in addition to the sailing certificate where at most four skippers are registered. The reason is that every time the yacht is anchored at a port, it is supposed to coordinate the extraction of the storage tank, both of the black waters from the toilets and the grey waters from the shower. The operation is carried out in coordination with the port management. The emptying of the tank is performed without charge or for a nominal fee. After this operation, a representative of the management signs the blue card so that there is confirmation of the requirement’s fulfillment.
Authorities are very strict on this matter, and coast guard representatives ask to see the signed document from time to time to ensure that the toilet tank has indeed been emptied.
Divers are not permitted to jump from yachts for diving unless it is done within the framework of the entities that have approval for this. The reason is that there are archaeological treasures beneath the sea surface, and the authorities do everything possible to curb the phenomenon of collecting archaeological items.
Another requirement of the authorities regarding yacht rentals is carrying a valid license for the yacht, adherence to all procedures including cleaning the hull with ecological soap.
Not adhering to all or some of these laws may end in arrest.
Have a pleasant sailing!
